Elephant Sanctuary
Parade magazine's issue of Sunday, February 24, 2002, featured a full-page article, including photographs, about the Elephant Sanctuary, the country's only protected natural habitat for Asian elephants. The sanctuary is the brainchild of New Earth Business Associate Carol Buckley, a former elephant trainer and circus performer who is on a crusade to improve the fates of elephants around the world.
Carol shared the following with us:
"Elephants arrive at the Elephant Sanctuary both physically and emotionally damaged. By using products like Wild Bluegreen Body and Spectrabiotic we help elephants to recover from past traumas or simply maintain good health after a lifetime of mismanagement. Jenny [one of Carol's 'girls', age 34] spent her entire captive life performing in circuses, and was rescued from an animal shelter. She now receives daily supplements of Wild Bluegreen Body that, interestingly enough, help to strengthen her injured knee. Another elephant, Sissy [age 40], had been mistreated by her handlers. When the assaults were videotaped, public outrage paved the way for Sissy's transfer to the sanctuary. She now receives Spectrabiotic daily to help counter her tendency toward colic and loose stools. In both cases we have seen a marked improvement in the health of these elephants."
